Goin’ Bulilit Kids promote vegetable eating through “Makulay ang Buhay” music video

It’s quite unusual to hear of kids who like eating vegetables. However, when Goin’ Bulilit stars Nash Aguas, Aaron Junatas and Sharlene San Pedro claim to love vegetables, they are simply telling the truth. In fact, the three recently shot a music video for Knorr Meaty Pang-Gisa’s “Makulay ang Buhay” to encourage other children to start eating vegetables.

Inside scoop: making the video
During the shooting of the music video, the three child stars displayed the numerous talents they’ve honed during their stint in “Goin’ Bulilit”. Apart from singing the “Makulay ang Buhay” theme song, they also showed off their dancing skills by performing the special “Makulay and Buhay” dance steps which were created especially for the video.

“Learning the dance routine was both fun and challenging,” notes Aaron. “We learned the steps the same day as the shoot so we had to memorize it quickly. But we all had a good time.”

Since the “Makulay ang Buhay” music video features an animated background and other special effects, the Goin’ Bulilit kids also had to flaunt their acting chops by performing in front of a green screen. Asked whether this posed problems, the kids replied that it was actually a wonderful experience.

“It was something I’ve always wanted to try,” says Nash. “In a way, it was a bit funny. We were pretending that we could see things that weren’t there.”

Meanwhile, the shoot reminded Sharlene of the sets used in many American movies. “It was like Hollywood. Acting in front of a green screen was a very memorable experience for me,” she adds.

Veggie talk: Goin’ Bulilit kids on eating vegetables
Although Nash, Aaron and Sharlene admit to having fun during the shoot, they are also very much aware of the reason behind the music video: to encourage other kids to eat vegetables. Even at their young age, the Goin’ Bulilit kids already know the importance of eating vegetables.

“Kids like me need to eat vegetables in order to grow up healthy,” explains Aaron. “It keeps us from getting sick and makes us smarter.”

For his part, Nash agrees with this statement. “Vegetables are good for you because they can do a lot of things. They have a lot of vitamins and minerals which we need to stay fit.”

“Children should definitely eat more vegetables if they want to stay strong and energetic,” adds Sharlene.

To help kids appreciate vegetables and become more like the Goin’ Bulilit kids, more moms are turning to Knorr Meaty Pang-gisa Mix. By giving veggie dishes that special meaty flavor that children love, it assists moms in ensuring that their kids are eating healthily. With Knorr Meaty Pang-gisa Mix, common vegetables such as ampalaya (bitter melon), sayote (chayotes), kalabasa (squash) and sitaw (string beans) are transformed into special fare that kids won’t be able to resist—not even the young stars of “Goin’ Bulilit”.

“When my mom cooks stir-fried vegetables, it always has that meaty taste to it,” smiles Sharlene. “I just absolutely love it!”

Nash and Aaron also say the same thing about their respective mothers’ vegetable dishes.

“The veggies she serves always have this meaty flavor to them, which makes every meal more enjoyable” observes Nash.

“Even if my mom’s doesn’t add any meat to her vegetable dishes, I can still somehow taste it,” says Aaron. “It really got me to eat more vegetables.”
